Mesin sandi buatan Indonesia tahun 1985 ini bertipe semi elektronik walaupun masih menggunakan teknik analog dengan komponen sederhana. Mesin sandi ini telah dilengkapi key generator untuk membantu proses penyandiannya. Mesin sandi ini telah dilengkapi dengan puncher, reader dan CGP (printer).

Mesin Sandi SRE-KG sampai dengan tahun 1986 telah dibuat sebanyak 19 buah. Pada tahun 1987 mesin tersebut diuji coba di lapangan di Kamar Sandi Angkatan Darat dan Pemda Tk. I.

The 1985 Indonesian cipher machine is a semi-electronic type although it still uses simple analog techniques. The cipher machine has been equipped with a key generator to assist with the encoding process. The cipher machine has been equipped with puncher, reader and CGP (printer).

Up to 1986, 19 SRE-KG Cipher Machines had been produced. In 1987 the machine was tested in the field at the Army Code Chamber and the local government.
