Buku Code C merupakan masterpiece Museum Sandi. Buku ini disusun oleh dr. Roebiono Kertopati pada bulan April s.d Mei tahun 1946. Buku ini memuat sepuluh ribuan kata sandi yang menjadi pedoman komunikasi rahasia Dinas Code di bawah Kementerian Pertahanan maupun setelah berubah menjadi Djawatan Sandi Angkatan Perang.
Awalnya, buku ini ditulis dengan dua tangan sekaligus oleh dr. Roebiono. Kemudian diperbanyak menjadi enam jilid dengan cara diketik oleh dua orang staf Kementerian Pertahanan sekaligus adik dari dr. Roebiono yaitu Sriwati dan Roekmini. Saat buku kode ini dalam tahap pengetikan, maka dibuat pula sistem sandi lainnya. Sistem-sistem sandi itulah yang kemudian dipandang efektif mengamankan pemberitaan dari berbagai front pertempuran, pemberitaan delegasi perundingan pemerintah Indonesia dengan negara lain, pemberitaan ke luar negeri, bahkan sampai ke daerah-daerah pedalaman.
Dari beberapa jilid yang pernah dibuat, saat ini tinggal 1 (satu) jilid Buku Code C yang tersisa dan menjadi koleksi unggulan Museum Sandi.
Code C Book is a masterpiece in Museum Sandi. It was compiled by Dr. Roebiono Kertopati in April to May 1946. It contained tens of thousands of passwords that served as communications guidelines for the Code Service under the Ministry of Defense as well as after changing into the Djawatan Sandi Angkatan Perang.
Initially, it was written in two hands at once by dr. Roebiono. Then it was reproduced into six volumes by being typed by two staff of the Ministry of Defense who are also Dr. Roebiono’s sisters, Sriwati and Roekmini. During the typing stage of the book, other cipher systems were also being created. These cypher systems were then deemed effective in securing news against various battle fronts, reporting on delegations during negotiations between the Indonesian government and other countries, international reporting, even reporting to remote areas.
Of the several volumes ever created, only 1 (one) volume of Code C Book remains at and has become the flagship collection of Museum Sandi.
